When you arrive you will be greeted warmly by our staff, who are exceptionally well trained and were hand-picked for their commitment to customer service. Their first priority is to help you have a comfortable experience. They will help you fill out the initial paperwork, answer your questions and explain our fee structure.

Soon after you have filled out the initial paperwork, you will have a private meeting with Dr. Groulx to discuss your health concerns. There is no doubt you will find Dr. Groulx to be warm, personable a “straight-shooter” and a great listener. He is also a top-notch chiropractor who counts several chiropractors from the Ottawa area among his client base. People have travelled from as far away as South Korea and Baffin Island for his expertise. More about Dr. Groulx.

If yours is a chiropractic case, Dr. Groulx will proceed with an in-depth orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic examination. No stone will be left unturned and every step will be explained. Everything will be done with your consent. Depending on the results of these preliminary tests Dr. Groulx may recommend x-rays and a computerized muscle scan, which can be accomplished in our very own x-ray suite. With the initial examination completed, your first visit will come to an end. Our staff will help you reserve your next appointment – The Doctor’s Report.

In the event that you are in crisis and require immediate intervention, Dr. Groulx may begin your treatment on the first visit but only after all the examination findings have been reviewed and fully analyzed.

Expect to spend approximately one hour at your first visit. Your initial appointment time takes into account the time required to complete all the necessary paperwork, so there is no need to arrive early.

Doctor’s Report

The Doctor’s Report is done in two parts.

The first part of the report is done in a group setting. There will be other new patients there and they will have their spouses present. It is critical that your spouse be present for the report. This will help those closest to you, fully understand your health condition and care regimen. The result is a stronger support system and accelerated healing time. Children are welcome. The group setting is used because we will discuss general information about the clinic as well as the specialized work that we do here. As soon as the group report is completed, Dr. Groulx will review your x-rays with you in private.

The Doctor’s Report is essential to make proper informed consent to chiropractic care. Except for unusual circumstances, chiropractic care will not begin until after the Doctor’s Report.

Many of our new patients tell us that although they were not enthusiastic about attending the Doctor’s Report, it turned out to be one of the most impactful presentations on health care they had ever attended. People love it.

If you choose to initiate chiropractic care, you will receive your first chiropractic adjustment! For many, the moments leading up to their first chiropractic adjustment is scary (ask Dr. Groulx how scared he was before his first adjustment!) but almost invariably everyone walks away with a feeling of relief. Relieved that the adjustment was "no big deal after-all" and relieved that their health is on the mend!

Adjustment Visits

The initial examination and the Doctor's Report are lengthy and complex. The benefit is that it allows Adjustment Visits, which make up the bulk of your care, to be brief. We know your life is busy and your day planner is full. Dr. Groulx has structured his approach to allow you to get the care you need and NOT be tied down in lengthy adjustment visits. Each visit involves a brief "check-in" with Dr. Groulx and an adjustment. Time required: 1-3 minutes - and you're on with your day. The formula is simple however; if you need more time, you get more time. Dr. Groulx's success as a chiropractor is built on producing highly satisfied customers! Progress Examinations

These fifteen minute appointments are performed periodically to update your file, track your original health complaint and measure progress. Expect Dr. Groulx to re-assess problem areas, perform subsequent computerized Myovision scans, discuss exercise and stretching regimens, lifestyle modification plans and of course, adjust you. The purpose is, to ensure that you are progressing according to plan. If you progress faster or slower than expected, your care plan will be modified accordingly. Progress exams allow both you and Dr. Groulx to keep a pulse on your health.

Orthotic Assessments

We provide prescription custom orthotics! Speak with Dr. Groulx to determine if orthotics are for you. They care covered by most insurance plans. Consult your insurance carrier.

Special Events

Chiropractic is a powerful healing art that can have a profoundly positive impact on your health. It is not a cure-all however, and there are many steps you can take to improve your lifestyle and health status. Dr. Groulx is a highly sought-after health care speaker/trainer in the corporate world and periodically offers Special In-House Events for his clientele. Topics range from stress management techniques, nutrition, tips on improving immune function and time management. Watch for special guest speakers from other health disciplines.
